Birdword Crossword Puzzle

April 7, 2020

We have a winner!

Congratulations to Karen Harris, you’ve won yourself a bird feeding station.  We’ll be in touch shortly via email to arrange your prize.

We’ll have more competitions coming soon too.  Keep an eye on our Competitions and Quizzes page for more.

You can still have a go at this crossword, but the competition is now closed.

This week we’ve got something a little different to test your bird knowledge with!  Our IT boffins have been hard at work putting together this crossword – we hope you enjoy it!

We also have a Bird Feeding Station worth £34.99 up for grabs.  The competition ends at midnight on Tuesday 14th April and a winner will be picked at random on Wednesday 15th April.  To enter the compeition, you must enter both your name and email address below to play, but these are optional.  You can leave these fields blank if you wish to have a go without entering the competition.

How well did you do?  Once you’re done, leave your result in the comments below.

We recommend playing this on a tablet or computer.  You could also turn your phone to landscape which should allow you to see the whole crossword.

The puzzle includes bird names, bird families and even some popular bird foods from our website.  Good luck!

  1. Was fun, sorry birds lunch was a little late struggled and ended up putting words that fitted and not the birds that were probably correct

  2. Wow! That’s really difficult without clues; I’m reasonably confident I’ve got four or five correct, but then I ground to a halt with several options which didn’t lead on to further answers. Clues, or more key letters needed to get any further.

  3. I had to have two tries. Got four wrong on the first go, around 84%, then got 100% on the second try. Very hard with no clues and only a few letters to get you started.

  4. Pretty tough without clues, but all correct in the end! Took me a couple of attempts as there were several options for some of them.

  5. Sorry tried but was looking for some clue..just starting out with wild life, thought the questions clues somewhere only clue I found was it’s a bird, family name for birds or a bird food you sell.. hadn’t realised how many birds are out there. I’ll. I did try tho!
